First Home Care was cited by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for deficiencies related to staff training, staff qualifications, and patient assessments.
During the inspection, DBHDS found three employees who were providing Mental Health Services but did not have the required experience documented in their personnel records. Also, three employees did not have evidence in their personnel records of the required vehicular insurance. Lastly, one employee did not have the required Department training or “person centeredness” training.
First Home Services was also cited for violations of patient assessment requirements after DBHDS found one individual who did not have a comprehensive assessment, while another individual did not have a completed assessment used in developing treatment. DBHDS also found that there was “no recent evidence of progress towards treatment” for two individuals in the program.
The facility submitted a plan of correction to address these cited deficiencies.
